What credit card does RentSmart support?

We support all Visa / MasterCard / UnionPay credit cards issued in Hong Kong.

How long does it take for the rent to reach my landlord?

Generally, the rent will reach your landlord’s account 3 working days after payment on the APP, so we recommend paying at least 3 days before the due date. Our payment cut off time is 10:30 p.m. each day.

What shall I provide for tenancy verification?

You can provide either the Tenancy Agreement, Stamp Duty Certificate, Notice of New Letting or Renewal Agreement (CR109) or Notice of Tenancy (AR2) for our verification. The document submitted should clearly show the party names, address of the premises, rent and rental period.

How long does the tenancy verification process take?

It would usually take 1-2 working days for your tenancy to be verified. However, if you can undertake as to the accuracy of the tenancy and information submitted, you can start paying rent right away. We will verify your tenancy while the fund is being processed and reach out to you if there are any issues.

How much rebate or rewards can I earn on my rent payment?

Payment through RentSmart is classified as an online transaction, for detailed rebate entitlement by our issuer partners but the amount of rebate or rewards would depend on the card of your choice, please contact the issuing bank of your credit card.

What’s the benefit of paying rent on my credit card?

Not only could you earn the rebates and rewards from the spending, you also get to enjoy the interest free extended credit term before your credit card bill becomes payable.

Do I have to tell my landlord that I am using RentSmart to pay rent?

There is no such requirement, but we recommend you do it as a matter of courtesy. In any event, we will notify the landlord by SMS once payment has been deposited into the landlord’s account.

Is there a rent payment limit?

The payment limit is subject to the credit limit or transaction limit of the credit card you have selected for payment.

Do I have to be the tenant, or can I pay on the tenant’s behalf?

You don’t have to personally be the tenant. If you are paying on someone’s behalf, you just need to declare your relationship with the tenant.

Will I get a record of the payment?

Once payment has been made to the landlord, you will receive a rental payment receipt which you may show to the landlord as proof of payment.

If the rent has been adjusted, what should I do?

If this is temporary, you can alter the rent during payment in the rent summary page.
